Cliché Scene #1

Waking up alone after a one-night stand

 The Lying Game (2010-)

When one of the two wakes up the morning after, he or she reach with one hand to touch the other person, but notices, totally unprepared, that he or she is gone.

Mystery: Where's the other person?
1. Getting dressed and leaving for work. (If its a man, he's probably just about to put his tie on)
2. Making breakfast
3. Gone, but left a note
4. Gone
5. Dead
6. Etc. (Suggestions?)

Cliché Character #2 - The Nerd from High-School

Bachelorette (2012)
This character pops up now and then in comedies where some kind of planned or unplanned reunion takes place.

The reunion takes place 10-20 years since the group was split up and the place is often a small town where everybody knows each other.

For this character to exist we also need the popular girl, or preferably the entire popular girl gang. They left town for a big city long ago and has only been back in town a few times since. The nerd has always had a crush on one of them, and when he sees her now after so many yeard he approaches her and starts a conversation. He tries to remind her who he is, but nothing rings a bell. Of course he used to sit behind her in class and maybe even helped her with some homework occasionally, but that's not what eventually will remind her who he is. Usually, there is a silly name they used to call him or something embarrassing he did once that makes her remember him. Finally, at the end of the movie, the two will become a couple. Sorry for the spoiler.

I know this is supposed to be one of the top jokes in these movies, but it has honestly never been funny.

Random Cliché #1 - Macs

The majority of movie characters uses Mac

Law Abiding Citizens
Apple seem to spend a lot of money on product placement in movies. According to the statistics on my other blog, Top 5 films, 12% of my visitors uses mac, 5% Iphone and 2% iPad, while 73% uses Windows. In movies, I'd say macs stands for at least 80% of the computer usage.

Cliché Quote #1

"So I guess this is goodbye" / "So I guess this is it"

Often said when someone has to part from a loved one for a long time, or even worse, forever.

Blog description

Hi, and welcome to my blog!

This site is all about the fantastic world of movies and more precisely about its huge amount of clichés.

In almost every movie I watch there is something very "familiar" and from now on, every time I notice it, I will write it down on this blog.

My posts can be divided into five different categories:
1. Quotes
Example: "It's not you, it's me"
2. Characters
Example: The stupid teenage horror character
3. Scenes
Example: The ripping-off-each-others-clothes sex scene
4. Places
Example: The local gas station
5. Random
Example: Unrealistic Morning Routines

Special days:
Every Monday I will bring you a new quote
Every Friday I present to you a well known movie character
Scenes, places and random posts will come irregularly for now.

I will name my posts like this "Quote/Character/Scene/Cliche #1 2, 3 and label them in their respective categories. To the right on the blog, under labels, you can click the tags and that way display all posts in that certain category.

Please comment and give feedback, it helps me and gives me motivation to keep on writing.

This blog description can always be found in the pages field under the header and may change as I develop the blog.
